Sprints
SPRINTS from Dublin combine alternative rock with noise punk and grunge. The now four-piece band was founded in 2019 by Karla Chubb and Jack Callen, inspired by a concert by the British post-punk band Savages fronted by singer Jehnny Beth.
Their debut album Letter to Self was released in early 2024. After SPRINTS played at Glastonbury last summer, supported Bloc Party, and toured Europe with Fontaines D.C., they released their second album All That Is Over in September.
SPRINTS’ music is loud and high-energy: distorted and crashing yet also emotive guitars, driving drums, and Karla Chubb’s often intensely angry but at the same time vulnerable vocals. She sings about mental health, queer identity, and the attempt to find your way in this restless and overwhelming world.
