GbR
Some bands are formed in smoky rehearsal rooms, others in shared kitchens. GbR, on the other hand, was born in 1997 in the open-plan office of an international telephone provider - somewhere between call statistics and canteen coffee. Joshua Pfeiffer and Xaver Held - two employees with a synthesiser in their hearts - decided back then to create a musical counterpart to everyday office life.
Today, their synthpop duo brings to our stage everything that has somehow always been missing: Songs that should have been there - somewhere between NDW, New Wave and the shimmering fog of hypnagogic pop. Their music sounds like misplaced mixtapes, like summer evenings in 1984 that never existed, and like danceable dreams in neon colours.
GbR remind us that pop can also be a bit weird, a bit nostalgic and, above all, wonderfully unique. We are delighted to welcome this charmingly offbeat project to Immergut - and invite you to dance with us as if it were a company outing.
