Dog Race
Dog Race are the kind of band you see live once - and then never forget. Their music is driving, hypnotic and full of energy, a dark, glittering mixture of electronic elements, edgy guitars and herbaceous rhythms. Inspired by the German music scene of the 70s and 80s, they interweave minimalism with maximum impact and create their very own, unmistakable sound.
For the five-piece band from Bedford - Katie Healy (vocals), James Kelly (guitar), Jed Finkelstein (drums), Dillon Willis (keys) and Will McNabb (bass) - the legendary London venue The George Tavern was also a creative starting point, as it is for many in the current UK music scene. Their lyrics revolve around mental health, relationships, identity - and the eternal urge for more, which they package as a commentary on capitalism in their current single ‘The Leader’.
No post-punk clichés, no genre pigeonholes - Dog Race are a band that find their own definition. And anyone who sees them live at Immergut Festival 2025 will understand why they are being hailed as one of the most exciting newcomer bands from the UK.
