Waving The Guns
WTG have been serving up sharp anti-capitalist, anti-fascist rap from Rostock since 2012.
Alongside head-nodding beats, Milli Dance and Dub Dylan impress with clear political lyrics full of tight rhymes and clever wordplay. Verbal slap-in-the-face potential included but always with plenty of humor and self-irony.
Their earlier tracks planted seeds in many desperate young hearts in the East German countryside, who were watching the rightward shift unfold and didn’t know where to turn. By playing shows in small-town youth centers, WTG gave those hearts space to keep beating.
With their new album "Between Wall and Wallpaper", they stay true to their solid, authentic style: collective and masked against all odds.
In unstable times like these, a WTG show can help channel your anger and give you the kick in the ass you need for political activism.
