Kabeaushé

The title “THESE DISHES AIN'T GONNA DO THEMSELVES” drew us in. We thought it was funny, so we gave it a listen — and what can we say? It actually is the perfect song for doing the dishes. That was probably not Kabeaushé’s intention, but the mix of tempo, electronic sounds, highs and lows, and a voice that’s hard to pin down completely pulls me under its spell and lets me forget everyday life for a moment somewhere between dish soap, cleaning cloths, and dirty plates. A positively overwhelming soundtrack for this not-so-beautiful everyday chore — and suddenly, just like that, it’s done once again.

But it’s definitely worth listening further, even far away from the kitchen sink! Because it has everything: from French baroque music to rock to hip-hop and pop. There’s a certain sharpness to it that keeps things exciting, while still leaving room for humor. From his hometown Nairobi to his current home in Berlin, the singer, rapper, and producer has now also found his way to Immergut. So let’s stand together in front of the stage and discover a new soundtrack for our everyday lives.
